Council Chamber
The grandeur of the Council Chamber along with its outstanding views of the city make it ideal for hosting a dinner dance, large drinks reception, lecture or conference.

The room’s features include an impressive domed ceiling and striking fireplace, and murals depicting the coats of arms of the spouses of the Kings and Queens of Scotland. The additional gallery space can accommodate an unexpected overflow or allow a photographer to record your event from above. The carpet can also be lifted for dancing or dinner events.
European Room
Lined with paintings by William Hole depicting some of the most significant events from six centuries of Edinburgh’s rich history, the ornate European Room is the perfect venue for a slightly smaller drinks reception, lecture or banquet, or for providing catering space for a larger event in the Council Chamber.

It is also used for marriage and civil partnership ceremonies booked through the Registration service.
Connecting doors to the Councillors’ Lounge provide further flexibility for your event.
Members Lounge
Adjoining the European Room through two sets of doors, the clubroom-style Members’ Lounge is home to some superb decorative features including stained-glass windows. It can be hired at evenings and weekends, either on its own or as an add-on for events in the European Suite.

Diamond Jubilee Room
The Diamond Jubilee Room, used as the meeting venue for the Town Council from 1811 until 1903, is positioned at the head of the main staircase, and illuminated by three magnificent chandeliers. This room’s large central table make it the ideal setting for dinners, small receptions, board meetings and presentations.

Dunedin Room
The Dunedin Room, decorated with paintings of previous Lord Provosts of Edinburgh, takes its name from Edinburgh’s sister city in New Zealand, and is panelled throughout with timber from the Otago region where Dunedin is the principal city. A large table makes it the ideal location for both private and corporate dinners and meetings.

Business Centre
The Business Centre, is the ideal space for lectures, presentations, workshops, seminars and small conferences. Fully equipped for prestigious small conferences the auditorium can accommodate up to 60 delegates. The room offers comfortable seats, each with an individual table top for note takers. A large plasma TV visible for all to see and views North to Princes Street and Fife.
The Breakout Area offers different styled chairs and sofas for a relaxed cafe style seating area. Perfect for private meetings and lunch.
